The Cliff Bay enjoys a superb location perched on a cliff top in sub tropical gardens with direct views towards the sea and bay. Just a 20 minute stroll will bring you to the capital Funchal, which has an array of shops, cafes and restaurants. Since it's opening in 1994, this stylish hotel has gained a reputation for it's extensive range of health, sport and golf activities for the discerning traveller.

OUR OPINION:

John stayed at The Cliff Bay in February 2006 and was extremely impressed with the quality of facilities on offer, especially the choice of dining and the amazing spa treatments.

HOTEL FEATURES:

• 201 bedrooms and suites with balcony or terrace. All rooms feature air-conditioning, cable TV, Minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, hairdryer and bathrobes.
• Outdoor sea water pool at ocean level with childrens section, plus indoor pool. Reduced golf fees with complimentary transport to a number of Madeira's excellent golf courses. Big game fishing and horse riding can also be organised at the hotel. Fantastic spa, fitness room, sauna, steam room, massage and Jacuzzi. Tennis court.
• Extensive choice of dining including, The Rose Garden A la carte and buffet restaurant with large terrace overlooking the tropical gardens. The A la carte Gallo D'Orso restaurant with stunning ocean views offering a gourmet menu, plus Le Cliff Bar & Bistro offering more affordable cuisine. The Cactus poolside bar serves drinks and snacks and Valentino's offers a wide range of cocktails.
